Roe v Wade- take action now

Abortion is a fundamental part of women’s healthcare, one in three women will get an abortion in her lifetime and access to safe abortion care is essential to the delivery of a fairer society for women and girls.

The recent revocation of women's right to abortion in the US is an assault on women, their families, and their lives. We ask that the UK government publicly condemns the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in the US and makes a clear commitment to supporting women's access to abortion care around the world.

There are 26 US states who are now certain or likely to outlaw abortion. It is estimated that 30 million women will lose their right to access abortion care. Those that will suffer the most are those who can least afford it. Many vulnerable and desperate women will be forced to take matters into their own hands, resorting to illegal - and potentially unsafe - methods.

We urge the UK Government to send a clear signal that the UK does not support the removal of a woman’s right to access abortion care.
